On 25 April, 2023, NSF announced and UCF announced the Virtual Experience Research Accelerator (VERA). We also enabled the first VERA web site.

SREAL alumnus Dr. Salam Daher was chosen as the 2022 Ying Wu College of Computing Excellence In Teaching Faculty Member Award at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Prof. Welch will serve one year on the World Economic Forum, Global Future Councils, Council on Virtual and Augmented Reality. Collaborator Prof. Jeremy Bailenson (Stanford) is a Co-Chair of the Council.

Both Myungho Lee and Jason Hochreiter were chosen for the IEEE VR 2018 Doctoral Consortium. This is an honor and includes travel and conference registration support.

I am so happy to share that Salam has been given an I/ITSEC (Fred Lewis) Scholarship. This is 1 of 3 awards given at the Ph.D. level. She has applied for and received this, a Link Fellowship, and M&S fellowships. Fantastic.
