SREAL

SREAL (pronounced "surreal") is a research lab at the University of Central Florida. The SREAL team includes faculty researchers, affiliated faculty members, research associates, PhD students, undergraduate research assistants, and a network of collaborators including local and remote faculty members and students. Most of the SREAL PhD students go on to be faculty members or research laboratory leaders, and undergraduate researchers often go on to graduate school.

The laboratory is housed in the Central Florida Research Park’s Partnership III Building. The lab space consists of over 7,000 square feet of experimental and office space. The space includes our Human-Surrogate Interaction Space (HuSIS), communal work areas, a changing set of research projects related to XR (Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and some meeting / social space.

SREAL is part of several larger UCF entities, most notably the Institute for Simulation & Training (IST), the Department of Computer Science, and the College of Nursing.

SREAL researchers collaborate with other researchers from around the world, some of whom join the lab in person for periods of time.
