XR Student Researchers Community

After participating in a few virtual conferences during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our PhD student Matt Gottsacker felt a desire to connect to more students and keep in touch outside of the major AR/VR conferences. So, he created a Discord server to do just that!

There are over 250 members from all around the world in the XR Student Researchers online community. It is a place for students to connect with other students researching XR technologies all around the world. Students regularly share ideas, discuss research, organize meet-ups, recruit participants for online studies, and socialize.

Even as conferences start to support in-person gatherings again, we see this community as a valuable place for students to interact and see what everyone is working on.
